We are looking for an Analyst to be part of our dynamic agricultural crop modeling team. You will help us build crop model systems that will allow us to better understand our production system but also improve our crop experience. You will use the collected data to discover solutions and opportunities as well as to identify patterns and trends. This is a data-driven role where you will work with a team to develop, improve, and deploy models across our production facilities. You will work with a creative and motivated team to support the production and research objectives of the Grow team and Plant Science team. This is a full-time position based at our San Carlos facility and will report to the Head of Plant Science.
What You’ll Do

- Create crop experience dashboards for production and research facilities
- Support Plant Science team and Engineers with variable characterization
- Use the collected data as a source of validation and decision tool
- Collaborate with the Grow and Plant Science team for the development of predictive tools and success metrics that allow us to evaluate outcomes
- Support the Engineering team on developing imaging and sensing technologies to increase the precision, frequency, type and amount of data collected during research and production trials
- Run basic statistical analyses on farm data
- Work closely with engineers, data scientists, and software developers to tackle multidisciplinary challenges
what You’ll Bring

- BS in Agronomy, Computer Science, Plant Science, Botany, or a closely related discipline
- 2+ years professional experience in a research technical environment
- A passion for innovation
- Data-driven approach
- Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience using and managing large data sets
- Ability to work independently in a highly collaborative team environment
- Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple work threads to maximize impact
- Out of the box thinking
- Passion for problem-solving and critical thinking
Nice-to-Haves

- Knowledge of hydroponic farming systems, including lighting, control systems, fluid systems etc
- Interest in the robotics space and love the fun of the startup environment and its culture
- Sql experience is a plus
- Experience in machine learning is a plus
