Electrical Technician @ Vertical Future Full Time

The Candidate:

As Electrical Technician you will be responsible for installing and delivering Electrical installations and solutions for Vertical Future. The ideal candidate will report to the Chief Product Officer and work closely together with the Electro-Mechanical Engineers on a day-to-day basis. You will be a key part of the growing Engineering Team who will quickly understand our product and support the team in meeting deadlines and project delivery pipelines.

The Role:

• Undertake electrical installations to current standards and regulations (including wiring control panels);
• Work from CAD Drawings and produce electrical schematics and wiring diagrams;
• Work and fault-find on a range of control panels and Electrical Machines;
• Construct, assemble, and fit Vertical Future’s Advanced Growing Systems and Container Labs; which includes metal work (primarily steel frames), pipe work, plumbing, electrics, and other general fitting activities;
• Install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment (Diagnose problems and provide solutions to repair them);
• Carry out preventative, responsive and pre-planned maintenance;
• Respond to reactive alarms;
• Oversee structural systems and ensure that they are maintained regularly;
• Liaise with the Engineering Team and work alongside mechanical fitters and technicians;
• Provide advice and expertise on the current running of facilities and plant when requested;
• Assist Management and Supervisors with plant running;
• Monitor performance and standards on shift;
• Asset improvement and site optimisation work;
• Pursue personal development for the effective performance of the role;
• Ensure health and safety is a priority on the job during all activities. Follow all team specific and company procedures;
• Work with all members of staff in a courteous manner, always ensuring a great working environment.

Our requirements

• Completed an Engineering apprenticeship;
• City and Guilds 2360 parts 1 & 2 electrical installation competence;
• City & Guilds Testing & Inspection;
• ONC or HNC level 3 NVQ or equivalent in engineering;
• Proven Experience in Electrical Installation and or Electronics;
• Proven Understanding of Health and Safety at work;
• Ability to read Electrical Schematics and Wiring Diagrams;
• Occupational Experience of Fault Finding and Electronic Control Systems;
• Minimum of 2 years working within a COSHH environment;
• Experience working in Construction and/or Manufacturing Industry (desirable);
• Full UK Driving License;
• Strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite;
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards;
• Clear understanding of the regulatory environment in which the business operates;
• Interest in sustainability.

• Fluency in English is mandatory; a second, or third language is a bonus.
