Company Profile & Role
At Growing Underground, we grow micro-herbs and salad for major nationwide retailers and London’s wholesale market using hydroponic, controlled environment farming techniques. Our farm is located 33m beneath Clapham High Street in former WW2 air-raid shelters.
The farm operative is an integral part of the production team, and will be responsible for completing day to day farm and packing related tasks, under the supervision of the Farm Supervisor.
Responsibilities and Duties
You will form the foundation of our farm and production team, carrying out all stages of the growing process from sowing seed, to harvesting crops, packing finished product and keeping all areas of our farm to a high standard of cleanliness. You will be able to follow procedures, willing to undertake all variety of tasks, a team player and someone who keeps their eyes open for improved ways of working.
The role will form part of the production team and is vital in the operations of the business.
Farm duties will include:
- Packing product
- Sowing seeds
- Moving danish trolleys
- Harvesting product
- Completing the required records
- Following procedures
- Cleaning
Candidate Profile
