As a Greenhouse Technician, you will be a key player on the team responsible for the daily operations in our state-of-the-art, organic greenhouse. Your responsibilities will primarily consist of harvesting and packing organic leafy greens (lettuce), along with planting seeds, transplanting plants between grow beds, and daily cleaning of equipment and work areas.
Education: You must have basic reading, writing, and math skills, and be able to comprehend basic communication.
Experience: You do not need to have any previous greenhouse experience to apply. However, you must be reliable, punctual, and work well with others as part of a team.
Licenses or Certifications: None
Status: Full-Time, Part-Time (typical average of 28 hours/week), and seasonal positions available
During the fall & winter, the team operates Monday through Friday. Weekends will be included in the harvest/work schedule again by next spring.
Schedule will include some holidays, as the farm does operate 365 days/year.

Seeing (75% – 100%): Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Communication (75% – 100%): Must be able to effectively communicate with coworkers in order to perform the requirements of the position.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling (75% – 100%): Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with both hands to include planting seeds, moving rafts, and cutting produce.
Standing/Walking (75% – 100%): Will remain standing for long periods of time and must be able to move about from one area of the workplace to another.
Climbing/Stooping/Bending/Kneeling/Reaching (50% – 74%): Will bend, twist, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach at or above shoulder level.
Lifting (75% – 100%): Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs. regularly, 50 lbs. occasionally.
Pulling/Pushing (0% – 24%): Will transport loads of up to 100 lbs.
Work Environment (75% – 100%): Predominately in greenhouse and refrigerated packing room environment. Although not substantially exposed to adverse external weather conditions, the packing room is cool and damp (38 degrees F), and the greenhouse is exposed to direct sunlight and therefore warm/hot and humid (minimum of 70 degrees F).
