Indoor Farming Technology Specialist Full Time

Our urban vertical farming startup in Berlin is seeking an experienced horticulturist to help build and operate our innovative indoor farms. As our horticulturist, you will collaborate with engineers and plant scientists to optimize and implement leading-edge controlled agriculture technologies that enable year-round local production of quality crops in the city.

Responsibilities:

Design and test indoor growing systems and protocols
Select seeds and develop custom hydroponic nutrient formulations
Monitor and maintain optimal growing conditions and equipment
Oversee planting, pruning, harvesting and processing of produce
Track plant health metrics and analyze data to improve crop quality and yield
Conduct R&D trials on new crops, techniques and technologies
Ensure sustainable practices and food safety standards are met
Requirements:

Degree in horticulture, agriculture or related field
2+ years experience in commercial horticulture or indoor farming
Expertise in hydroponics, aeroponics, and other advanced systems
Knowledge of plant biology, physiology, and nutrition
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate and communicate across disciplines
