About Orius
Orius takes on the most ambitious projects of living organisms production in controlled environments, serving beauty, health, space & food industries.
The company was founded in late 2021 by three indoor farming veterans. Our mission is to bring technologies & know-how to industries in ecological and energy transition, for a performing, predictable production of bio-based food, molecules and materials.
Our credo : biological, technological and operational excellence for leading-edge cultures of plants, mushrooms, insects & micro-organisms.
Your mission
Your mission as the first software engineer will be to carry the development of our automated plant production platform. You’ll be commissioned to develop back-end modules and user interfaces for our product prototypes, under the guidance of the company’s partners, distinguished product and software and engineers.
You’ll be interacting directly with our industrial IoT system, to automate the culture of plants and other living organisms. You will be developing both the “recipe runtime” for growing plants, and the cloud backend that will help to manage a fleet of installations.
About you
Ideally, you hold a master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. You have demonstrated experience and taste for writing quality software and building products with best-of-class developer and user experience. You show strong API and architectural design skills, and are willing to lead the development of entire projects and products.
With a hacker spirit, you’re not afraid to peek into hardware, network, or systems engineering. You’re familiar with a Linux shell and the tooling required for releasing software in production. Strong experience of the Python programming language and its ecosystem is highly desired.
We’re not expecting deep expertise in all the aforementioned fields, only that you’re willing to learn, alongside industry veterans.
Bonus points for experience with TypeScript, ReactJS (or equivalent) and indoor agriculture.
