Sales Associate @ Zero Carbon Farms Full Time

Zero Carbon Farms (ZCF) is a fast-growing, data-driven, fresh produce company utilizing hydroponic, controlled environment methods to sustainably grow the tastiest, most nutritious salad products out there. We supply the UK’s leading wholesale and retail customers with salad products grown in our Clapham farm, and will be scaling our operations by the summer of 2022.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Sales Associate 42.5 hours / week to be a key component of our dynamic and driven Sales team, responsible for managing and growing their own customer segment. The role will suit a candidate who is passionate about sustainability, ag-tech, and the food industry, with previous experience in a sales or customer support role. Previous experience as a chef is desirable.

Candidate Profile

You have great interpersonal skills and the ability to form and build on successful relationships. You will work with our current customers to ensure satisfaction and seek out new opportunities to improve our sales performances. You will be a key co-ordinator between the sales and operations teams, making sure daily orders are entered into the Operations team planning programs, and will follow up to make sure orders are delivered as requested. You will be responsible for your own customer segment (independent, London based groceries, restaurants and cafes) and will be enthused by the opportunity to build out the segment.

Account Management

• • Manage the sales of current accounts ensuring their needs are met
  • Daily Plan management:
    • Enter sales planning information for Operations Team by the required deadline
    • Contribute to the planning program for the grow team, ensuring forecasts for the Direct to Customer segment are as accurate as possible
    • Liaise with Operations to ensure London based deliveries are going out as planned
    • Follow up on any issues / shorts with Operations and mitigate issues to prevent recurrence
  • Follow up with customers (either by phone or email depending on customer) on a weekly basis to ensure they are placing orders consistently
  • Visit London based stores to ensure our products look great on shelves
  • Carry out Customer Health Checks: speak to and email customers as appropriate – engage with customers to identify their needs (i.e. feelings on range, packaging format, crops to trial, etc) and resolve any complaints they may have. Follow up with customers to make sure that they are satisfied with the product.

Sales Development

• • • Collaborate with the rest of the sales team to build out a pipeline of prospective new customers
    • Reach out to prospective new customers and manage the outreach to conversion process
    • Grow the segment in line with the overall sales strategy, meeting and collaborating with the rest of the team frequently to review and update objectives
    • Act as a point of contact for the info mailbox enquiries, responding to sales enquiries and forwarding other emails to relevant department
    • Oversee and manage public & private farm tours
